Why Vote Democratic?
Michigan Democrats held all three branches of state government for the first time in 40 years, from 2022-2024. Here's what we did in just 2 years:
Lowered Costs & Put Money Back in Pockets
- Rolled back the retirement tax on pensions, so seniors keep more of what they earn.
- Quintupled the Working Families Tax Credit, putting an average of $3,000 back in the pockets of hundreds of thousands of Michigan families.
- Provided free breakfast and lunch for every public school student.
Protected Personal Freedoms & Civil Rights
- Repealed Michigan's 1931 abortion ban, keeping medical decisions between patients and doctors.
- Expanded civil rights protections so no one can be fired or denied housing because of who they are or who they love.
- Banned conversion therapy on minors.
Stood Up for Workers & Good Jobs
- Repealed Right-to-Work and restored prevailing wage laws.
- Passed a 100% clean energy standard by 2040, reducing pollution and investing in Michigan manufacturing.
Kept Kids & Communities Safe
- Passed universal background checks, secure storage requirements, and red flag laws.
- Required certified lead-filtration stations in every public school and daycare.
When we take charge again this fall, we'll continue this work on behalf of all Michiganders -- and address new active threats like ICE, cuts to SNAP benefits and health care access, and unregulated AI and data centers.
